About the instrument
Maresono is a free, open-source generative synthesizer for ocean waves that creates continuously evolving shorelines, deep currents and storm surf in the browser. Its four sound worlds move from the gentle detail of Calma to the rolling swells of Onda Lunga, the low weight of Profondo and the force of Tempesta.
Each model begins with the spectral analysis of a real handcrafted ocean drum. Instead of replaying or looping the recording, Maresono shapes new noise through learned filters, slow wave envelopes and changing stereo movement, producing a continuous soundscape that does not repeat.
Use Maresono for relaxation, meditation, sleep, ambient composition, installations, cinematic and game atmospheres, or experimental sound design. Choose a sound world, adjust its intensity, listen continuously or export the result as a WAV file.
